The compression ratio depends largely on the incoming images. In general, it can be said that the compression rates are better if the images are dark, there is little image noise and the images are not overexposed. Furthermore, the compression rate can be improved by an optimized huffman table which is used for the compression algorithm. Please contact us to improve the compression ratio for your application.

My device broke down within the warranty period. What can I do, how does the repair process work and where can I find the Return Material Authorization (RMA) documents?
If your device no longer works as it should, whether within or outside the warranty period, we will be happy to help you repair it:
- After ensuring that the issue is not caused by a handling problem please contact sla-support@aedvantage.com and confirm you checked for the frequent handling issues described above.
- AED will provide an RMA form including an RMA number. Please fill out the form (downloadable on our Download-Center after login) thoroughly and send it back to
AED. Please note that the form is used as a base for the root cause analysis and hence if it’s missing or not
filled out properly, the analysis cannot be initiated. - If there are multiple devices with the same failure behaviour, only one form must be filled out where the serial
numbers of all affected devices can be included. - One RMA number could be used for different defects and different devices, however for each defect type
identified, an individual form must be filled out. - Ship the package to the following address: AED Vantage GmbH, Taunusstr. 51, 80807 München, Warenannahme Fertigung 1. OG, GERMANY
What cable type and maximum cable length are recommended for the CruEther 100M USB & CruEther 1G USB?
The Molex Mini50 Connector (34912-8020) enables to connect various UTP cables (unshielded twisted-pair) of different length. We recommend to use a maximum cable length of 15 meters to connect your Automotive Ethernet DUT.
The configuration of the CruEther 100M USB & CruEther 1G USB is done with a user switch on the side of the device. The user switch is a two-state switch to configure the device as master or slave. Please find more details in our User Instructions Manual.
Yes, our CruEther product family supports VLAN Tag Stripping and Filtering. The VLAN tags are removed by default. If you want to change the default settings, please refer to our application note (AN_AEC_003), which is available in our Download Center.
